To buzz or not to buzz

OK so for the second time in a row I've taken Michael to get his haircut and he won't let Crystal (who we've always gone to) cut it. He's never been scared before & I don't know if he is truly scared or if it's just his age. He's 4 weeks overdue & it's getting pretty long. I'm thinking about buzzing it, but I don't really want to I just don't know what else to do. I think he'll freak out with the clippers and it's winter so it's not exactly weather friendly but maybe if we buzz it then he will be more willing to have Crystal cut it when it grows back. But I also don't want to make him cry. So do I turn my son into a long haired hippie or what. Do you see my dilemma? If anybody actually reads this blog and has any suggestions or advice that would be great.

Beating the winter blues

Yesterday Michael & I joined our...well I don't know exactly what the title is, we're cousins but not first cousins. I've never been good with the whole cousin thing (second cousin twice removed etc.) Anyways, back to topic we went to A.C. Gilbert House with Mike,(his mom is cousins with my dad) Tawny, Tatiana & Henry. It was so much fun & nice to break the monotony of winter and being cooped up inside. Michael loved looking at the train set, grocery shopping & playing in the bubble room the most I think. It was raining & cold so we didn't get to play outside. Michael was kind of bummed about that but no meltdowns so it was a good afternoon. Even without playing on the playground we were there for about 2 hours & it didn't even seem like we were there that long. My camera isn't working right now,(fingers crossed it's just low on batteries) so I didn't get any pictures :( Rick & I are seriously thinking about getting a membership so we can go whenever we want & go to OMSI for free. I haven't been to OMSI since 4th grade! I think it would be well worth the money. Thanks for a fun afternoon Sherrod family!

A new chapter

My baby is growing up! This weekend we finally took down one side of Michael's crib and he is now officially in a "big boy" bed. I know most kids are in a bed much sooner but my little guy has some sleep issues, so I wasn't in a big hurry to get him out of his crib. I think I've figured out how to get him to sleep all night (finally) so it was time. The first night the poor little guy fell out of his bed twice! So we put a quilt on the floor right next to him so if he fell it would be a softer landing. We will probably be looking into some siderails if you can buy them separately. The next thing to conquer is potty training. He's very stubborn about it and has no interest in it at all. Wish me luck and if you have any advice or words of wisdom on the subject please share.

I've decided to start a blog to try to keep up with my friends & family. I've realized that I don't keep in touch like I should I thought I'd try this out.
