Weekend Living

I'm a little behind on blogging...what's today Tuesday???  Last Friday my cousin Karrie & I took Abby & Michael to the Gilbert House.  The kids had a good time and the weather even cleared up enough for a trip outside to the playground.  I was going to take a lot of pictures but of course after 2 pics my camera died-ugh.

Michael driving the boat-is that the right word "driving"?

                                                                enjoying the bubbles
I know, I know the pictures suck but I told you my camera died!  After we left we went to McDonald's for lunch and then did a little consignment shopping.  I only found 1  pair of pj's for Michael but Karrie always seems to find the cutest clothes for Abby.  It was a fun day!

The rest of the weekend went like this-mowed the lawn, cleaned the bathroom, swept & mopped the floors, did at least 4 loads of laundry, shampooed Michael's carpet, & cooked & cleaned the kitchen numerous times.  Jealous huh?  OK I guess we also had a little downtime-we went to Bush Park, bbq'd hamburgers & even watched a movie or two.  So, how was your weekend?

Oops

Ok so I messed up last post & the pictures never showed up so I'll try again.

                                                                        Trenton Lee

Here are some pictures taken today.  Michael had a playdate with Tatiana & Henry, it was perfect weather & we all enjoyed being outside in the fresh air & sunshine.  I love spring!

                                                                Cutie Pa-tootie Henry
                                                          Michael & Tatiana hugging
I needed photographic evidence of the hug.  Tatiana always wants to hug Michael but he usually runs away but this time he actually gave her a hug.  That wasn't the only time either, it was shocking! ha ha
Here are some pictures from last night.  My brother Chris & nephew Trenton came over for dinner last night.  It was so nice to see Trenton, it seems like it's been awhile.  The guys all played catch after dinner so I took some pics.  Michael loves his Uncle Chris so much and was happy to see him & Trent.  We Love You Guys!

What's up Doc?

Rick & I have been a little concerned about Michael for awhile now because he repeats everything & doesn't answer questions-just repeats what you said. I've talked to family & friends, some of whom think he's fine and some think he might be autistic. But for my own peace of mind I made an appt. with his doctor. Michael was not happy to be there because he remembered the last appt. where he got shots & bloodwork. After much convincing that there would be no "owies" he settled down. The doctor recommended that we take him to OHSU & have him tested there. From the little I know about the testing it sounds like they just talk & play with him while they take notes & do their evaluation. It will be a month or two before we can get in probably & it will take most of the day to do the testing. I'm a little worried but I'm looking forward to finding out what (if anything) we can do to help him. Wish us luck!
After the appt. we decided to take Michael to the carousel for being so good at the drs. He played on the playground for a little while but it was cold so we cut it short & Michael had a total meltdown. The joys of being a parent! Here are a few pictures before the meltdown.

Finally...a haircut!

Michael finally got a haircut on Saturday! He hadn't had a haircut in about 4 months so he was way overdue. Rick took him to a barber shop in the morning and it was a disaster, Michael was flipping out-kicking, screaming etc. Rick couldn't take it so he told the barber to stop and he was only halfway done! Of course he stopped crying the minute they left the barber & then Rick was kicking himself for not having him finish. So they come home with half a haircut which I was not pleased about. Rick tells me he's going to finish it (he's never cut hair in his life) and he's going to do it when Michael is sleeping. I almost laughed out loud because he was totally serious! So I racked my brain and remembered that Rick's cousin Dina knows how to cut hair so she came over that night (thankfully) and fixed it. Thanks Dina! It looks so good now! Here are a few before & after pictures.
